Saturday..........end of an era......

Well I watched and said good bye to the first set of leavers but turns out joe couldn't wake me up when he was leaving. "Out for the count" I believe he said. Guttered? You could say..... I mean I've near enough spent 7 days 24 hours of them with these people! And I missed of waving my friends of.
Pretty much the same as the 1st seminar I went on.....

The last of us that left on Saturday was the English welsh Gunvor and the last prep team members....I think we all got emotional once again when we all hugged and got in my car to leave.

This has got to have bin the hardest seminar goodbye I have ever had.

To all of you that took part in one way or another I want to say thank you. You have all made one English man very proud to know you all and to have had such an experience this week!
Love you all!
Friday

Great night last night with Worcester yf. Good crack with all games. Acting out a verb by not speaking and having a "dummy" (another person) and move him/her around to act out the verb.

This morning I couldn't sleep so got out of bed at 4.45am and came to computer to start on a bit of work. Seeing as the prep team done so much work I went and made short film with clips from the group to say thank you for this whole week. except I forgot to include the Swedish video and then to top it all the computer died! Felt really great....

Work shops today consisted  of coming up with business plan for our own company and presenting it to the group. Had the big friendly giant Stuart and me amazing partner in crime Karl working with me. Think we had a great team, a lot of work was done and worked well with each other.

We did the last evaluation session today, went through all our hopes, fears expectations that we had at the beginning of the week. Reflecting back made me realise how it felt 1 week ago when writing them down how different I would feel towards the others in the group and how much we grown together.

Nicola came in from Nfyfc and organised "the wedding of the year!" This has to be one of THE BEST endings to a seminar I have ever had! It was fantastic! Loved every second of it! The only down side to it all was having to say goodbye to alma as the wedding started....to be with us all week and have so much effort put into the work she did I was really gutted that she had to leave early.....I do hope that the Thursday night was good enough for her last night with us.

Well I have to admit having stayed awake for 27 hours I think I was a little tired when the day ended.....

Thursday
Morning was a little slow getting up but made shower breakfast and ready in 30mins.
Walk down hill to train station and of to Worcester. Tour round the cathridrail. Beautiful! Les the tour guide was great and even had a little joke with us.
Had walk round town afterwards....ended up acturely using the information about how Twitter Facebook can spread around so fast one persons comment and spread a bad word. I was on a customers survices phone line and trying to get my money back. Got £20 out of it. Top day so far!
Got talk after dinner so got to prepare for that.
Think the dinner ladies are amazing! The "Debbie's" drove past us on way back up the hill and they offered us a lift so bit of fun drove past everyone and waved :)

Still Wednesday night.......10.20pm

Just had a read through one or 2 peoples blogs from the seminar....... I have to admit it never accrued to me that some times that our culture (English) can be slightly full on. The way we are can be intimidating for some people. I mean I know I'm a little bold with how I can come across and well have a joke from time to time. Honestly some times I only make jokes though because believe it or not I'm actually scared and nervous of my surroundings and not sure if I'm doing right from wrong.

I really want everyone to enjoy themselves this week but I don't want to come across as the "fool" as well. I hope that I help in a way to make people feel comfortable with being in a strange country and away from home. Ive made some real good friends this week and I hope that I can keep in touch and hopefully catch up with them one day in the future. Ive been in this place before making such good friends before and then saying goodbye to them.

Only 2 days left now.... few things I wish for rest of the week. This is my last seminar I'm going go to and I hope it gets better as we go (OK I know its going to get better!). The friendships we make and links we create stay. The work we have done and learn this week really pay of for us all and get the best out of it all when we go home and not just forget about it.

Have to say well done team. You've made a subject that could have been a bit full on and over loading on the info a really good interesting week. The prep team have done a fantastic job!
Wednesday

Last nights young farmers games night was a good crack. Got everyone involved and joining in.

Later on in the night everyone had a crack with each other and chatted to the young farmers which was good to see.

Breakfast was pancakes waffles etc again.... Think my teeth might rot of....

This morning we noted down different ideas for the questions we was asked by the 3 business yesterday. Give a few ideas to other group to help out. Spilt into groups to answer the questions from business's.
Ours was "how do we break into the funeral market, renowned as a closed shop and very traditional?"
Talked about going to other company's, clubs, groups, church's, football groups so if they know of you and know that your good then they will use you at times and move into the funeral. The job carnt be a fast one. It will take time. Website was a little to update ie easier and more obvious pictures to see. Making a smaller advertising video of 30seconds long and not 5mins. Search engines that look up top asked words need to match up with their company etc. the APP. Make a Sweet Simple Stupid free app.

Dragons den...... All presentations had done really good ideas and answers that I was thinking if before. Everyone taking part and getting involved is really great to see.

Carnt believe I lost my flaming poster about the app!!!! Gutted about myself be ond belief....!!!!!
Great feed back from the dragons and loved hearing everything from them all. Really good to hear they want to feed back in 6months about what they done with our info.

Loved the night walk. Felt a little like walking up to the rock back at home and looking out over the village. Everyone's chatting and bonding together now and it will be a shame to leave everyone on Saturday but I guess it's what makes the seminars worth that little bit more worth wild. I mean we all come here to learn a bit more about what the topic is but the ever lasting friendships that we make are magic.

Do think I need a shower now though after that walk wearing me waterproof trousers......

Tuesday

Last nights Folk dancing has to be the best night so far by a long shot! Great night dancing with all the morris dancers. not only did they get everyone involved with the dancing but they also came and joined in with us afterwards and joined in with our games. I think the black face paint was passed rnd near enough onto everyone....

Fry up breakfast was lovely this morning. Of on the mini bus this morning to travel about and see the 3 different jobs. 1st was Hopes of Longton. Beautiful little village shop with post office. A lot to offer from the shop.
White Haywood Farm Restaurant was 2nd with dinner included. Jacket potato with a stew and mince meat. top! It had its own meat to eat and sell to market.
Wiggly Wigglers was last on the trip. Big farm that is owned by Prince Charles and rented. Made its own bird feed to sell of. It also had another bussnis Great British Flowers that ran from the farm. It had its own ware house that was 5miles away that shipped everything out from there.

Todays been really good and well timed. We left the site and travelled about and got to see the sights. A little break from the place was nice. Very relaxing but also very informative at the same time.

Tonight is organised by Young Farmers so Im sure it will be a good crack with them. tonights dinner was pasta meat balls. very nice.

Monday

Last nights international buffet was great night fun from tasting all foods and drink to everyone playing jinga and being unbeatable in table football!

This mornings energiser was a little put of due to rain when we became ninjas. Went inside though to finish of.

Nice steady start with talking about what a entrepreneur is. Into groups where we discussed more in depth  what they are with strengths and weakness of them.
Had dowts about talking about famous entrepreneur but was glad to be shown that presentations and hearing the information was more interesting than what first thought.

Looking at what a business plan is and what it should include. Talking in groups about what should be included, what is important and who should be reading it. Tried to stand back and not talk as much but struggle to, as get 1 or 2 people not feeling 100% comfortable and shy to talk out. Think few of us have shown that we can talk easy in front of people and feel comfortable about it so they let us carry on. Think need to hold back a bit and ask the right questions to them to help them give there thoughts out to the group.
Some times I don't know when to be quite and forget to let others talk......

Looking in depth at what's in a business plan and how to write one up. Looking at what financiers you have to look into and what orders you should look at to catch people's eye. What sounded like could have been a little on the boring side turned out to be really interesting and a little fun. The session itself was put together really good and kept everyone thinking. Made me really think about it all and realise how much work there is in it.
(Still trying to let everyone say something but everyone seems to look at me to talk and present for the groups... See what this afternoon brings...)

Dinner was pizza and salad, nice.

Feeling a bit tired, sat down for a talk about social media. Tips on getting out in world, hash tagging words and spreading word about your business's. Took photos through out for reminds to take back home about improving the village halls advertising. And it's free. But we seem to paying for it...???
Advised that Twitter is best for advertising. Might look into it for the hall when we are happy with Facebook page. Could a small simple video be made and put on twitter and Facebook at all...? Really making me think about what I can do for the village hall now which I wasn't thinking about would happen.
Have to thinking about keywords what people look for when searching on google/etc.

Dinner tonight was pork chop, potatoes and beans. Nice dinner.

Got folk dancing tonight. Looking forward to it all will give a report back in the morning.
